T he i dentity of people with disabilities is approached from their family core and social context, based on the theory of identity manipulation, by G offman. havi ng as the object to be analyzed, the way the subject d eals with their own disability in society, the objective is to understand the social representations of the identity of people with disabilities, through film analysis, in two b razilian works of the A ss im v ivemos international festival : D o luto à luta (MO CARZEL, 2005) and Um dia especial (AMORI M, 2013) 2013). considering that movies can represent a social reality from the perspective of filmmakers and producers, who carry ideologies that can be expressed in th e filmic narrative, the method suggested by D enzin (1978) was used, in which a realistic reading and a subversive reading of the film. T hrough film analysis, it was possible to understand aspects that are not linked only to orality, such as the socioeconom ic situation; the family dynamics; civil status; audiovisual family records; items that enable the un derstanding of social representation. R epresentations related to all four stages of disability conception were identified: exclusion, integration, segregat ion and inclusion; noting that there is a recurrence of ignorance about the syndrome that has occurre d, which increases the possibility that new representations are created based on the child's identity. I t was observed that the feeling of belonging to a s ocial group occurs in three main ways: by cultural element; for the recognition of experiencing the s ame disability; and by dependence on a caregiver. when the person does not recognize themselves as part of the group with the same disability, it was obser ved that a cultural element is stronger, such as intellectual development or sports performance. T he social identity of people with disabilities faces a challenge when there are limitations to self expression.application/pdfAcesso Abertohttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/Representações sociais; pessoa com deficiência ; identidade social; análise fílmica; Festival Assim Vivemos; cinema.Social representations; people with disabilities; social identity; film analysis; Assim Vivemos International Festival; cinema.CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::ADMINISTRACAOOUTROS::CIENCIAS SOCIAISAnálise fílmica das representações sociais em obras do Festival Assim VivemosDissertaçãoToledo, Dimitri Augusto Da Cunha
