Yes, the misuse and badly planned natural resources impacts, direct and indirect, in the quality and quantity of groundwater resources. As for the problem of contamination of the resource, use and analysis of soil coverage integrated with variables of the physical environment can contribute to a better understanding of this issue. This work was prepared the charter of potential vulnerability to contamination of groundwater resources of the municipality of Alfenas, southern Minas Gerais State, which occupies 849.97 km2. The methodological structure was based on multi-criteria analysis strategy decision matrix and cross-tabulation that rated the potential vulnerability of contamination in the following classes: extreme, high, moderate, low and negligible. The arrays are characterized by intersections of physical environment and man-made attributes in geographic information System (GIS) with the software ArcGIS® 10.3.1.
