In this context, solar and wind energy stand out as essential eco-innovations for mitigating climate change and promoting sustainability. This dissertation analyzes the effects of international knowledge spillovers on innovation in solar and wind energy technologies, considering OECD countries and their trading partners from 2000 to 2019. Through patent citations and scientific literature, using econometric panel data analysis techniques, the study investigates how the flow of knowledge between developed and developing countries influences the innovation dynamics in these sectors. The results indicate that only patents originating from developed countries have a significant and positive impact on innovation in other countries.
