Dissertação (Programa de Pós-Graduação em Gestão Pública e Sociedade) - Universidade Federal de Alfenas, Varginha, MG, 2022.https://repositorio.unifal-mg.edu.br/handle/123456789/2201The contemporary economic and technological conjuncture has driven significant changes in labor relations, which, regarding Brazilian public basic education, was driven by the education reform of the 1990s, with the impl ementation of management measures that demand, among other actions, greater commitment to working by teachers, who suffer without receiving public support to instrumentalize the demands imposed. Given the clear lack of commitment of the institutions/State with the teachers, it is intended to analyze the relationship between commitment to the career and mental health of basic education teachers in the southern region of Minas Gerais, in a sample of 452 teachers, working in 19 state schools located in two cit ies in the southern region of Minas Gerais, considering the legal contractual working conditions of the teaching function according to the categorization of Borges et al. (2015). The research was developed based on qualitative and quantitative study data, with the application of data collection techniques (questionnaires, scales, semi structured interviews) and quantitative data analysis techniques (descriptive statistics regression analysis , correlation ) and qualitative (content analysis ).
