Dissertação (Mestrado em Geografia) - Universidade Federal de Alfenas, Alfenas, Mg, 2022.https://repositorio.unifal-mg.edu.br/handle/123456789/1966Geography consolidates itself as a science in the 20th century, demonstrating itself as a way of interpreting geographic space in its different dimensions. Among them, the cultural dimension stands out, which emerged in the West at the end of the 19th century, going through several transformations during the following century. In Brazil, cultural geography began to be worked on and recognized during the 1990s, gaining increasing importance from the 21st century onwards. Given this scenario, the main objective of this work is to understand part of the academic production on cultural geography in Brazil in the period 2001-2020, based on the analysis of selected scientific journals. For this, the relationship between cultural studies and the concept of landscape was considered, as well as its possible relationship with the use of photographs. Three periodicals were selected for analysis: Espaço e Cultura, Ateliê Geográfico and Geograficidade. As a way to build the research, the hermeneutic method was used, accompanied by research techniques related to content and discourse analysis. Firstly, a bibliographic review was carried out on the history of cultural geography, as well as studies on the research method and techniques. In a second step, the selection of articles in the journals and their analysis was carried out. Subsequently, the results were systematized. Finally, the final writing of the dissertation. The research results show the themes, research techniques and study scales found in the articles investigated in each journal, as well as discussions regarding the conceptualization of landscape and its relationship with culture in these works and on the spatial dimension of the publications. In addition, discussions were held regarding the relationship between landscape and photography and the use of photographic images in research. Cultural geography in Brazil is growing, establishing epistemological bases for its adhesion and proposing new ways of interpreting space. In addition, the concept of landscape appears as a possibility for these studies. Likewise, it is understood that photographic records work as a support for geographic investigation.application/pdfAcesso Abertohttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/EpistemologiaHistória do Pensamento GeográficoFotografiaCIENCIAS HUMANAS::GEOGRAFIAPaisagem e geografia cultural: a produção geográfica brasileira entre 2001 e 2020DissertaçãoAlves, Flamarion Dutra
