The increase in the use of this type of credit by public servants, highlighted in some research, places them as the main components in the group of Brazilians with debt. As a general objective, the research seeks to investigate the relationship between personal finances, the use of payroll loans and the perception of quality of life of technical-administrative employees at UNIFAL-MG, according to the definition of quality of life of the World Health Organization (WHO). This is a quantitative, descriptive, and exploratory research conducted on a sample of 155 employees. To investigate the perception of technical-administrative employees at UNIFAL-MG regarding their finances and quality of life, a questionnaire on personal finances was used, addressing aspects of family indebtedness and financial behavior, as well as a quality of life questionnaire, the WHOQOL-BREF, developed by the World Health Organization (WHO). For data analysis, the research utilized the statistical method of multiple linear regression modeling. Among the employees who have consigned credit, it is noticeable that a small percentage have a significant portion of their income committed to loan payments. However, they have shown to use credit consciously. Even though the results do not demonstrate an excessive commitment of personal income, which could have both material and psychological impacts on the employees, the majority expressed concern about their financial situation. In this regard, it is expected that the proposed intervention can be implemented as a means of maintaining effective financial resource management and preventing excessive indebtedness, especially in times of crisis.Among the employees who have consigned credit, it is noticeable that a small percentage have a significant portion of their income committed to loan payments.
