We sought to analyze the regulation of work in the Escola de Enfermagem - EE, of the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais - UFMG, and the impacts on the emotions of Técnico-Administrativos em Educação - TAEs. This research, in terms of the ends, is exploratory, explanatory and applied, and, in terms of means, it is documentary, field and case study. We use triangulation to reach new perspectives on the impacts of work regulation on the emotions of the servers in the School and to increase the reliability of the research. We used, therefore, an analysis of the documents on the implementation of the flexibilization of the working day, including results of the satisfaction surveys conducted by UFMG, qualitative research and quantitative research with the TAEs, and interview with the Board of EE UFMG. By analyzing the data, we verified that the regulation of the work day at UFMG and, specifically, at EE brought positive results, within the expected for University. However, we perceive the importance of the studies of the emotions of the individuals in the organizations, because there were positive and negative impacts on the emotions of the TAEs with this regulation in the University, that generated expectations and frustrations in the way in which it was regulated and how the implementation of the 30 hours has been conducted. This demonstrates that thinking about emotions in organizations is important. The implantation was positive, but the impacts on the emotions were more negative than positive in the EE.
