Dissertação (Mestrado em Educação) - Universidade Federal de Alfenas, Alfenas, MG, 2023.https://repositorio.unifal-mg.edu.br/handle/123456789/2222In the present research, it was investigated how Pedagogy courses develop the formation focused on Mathematics of future teachers of Early Childhood Education and early years of Elementary School, considering that these professionals will be responsible for the teaching process of this discipline at the beginning of schooling.Thus, with the intention of understanding how Pedagogy courses prepare future teachers to teach Mathematics in early childhood education and the initial years of Elementary School, a study was carried out of the Pedagogy Course Pedagogical Projects (PCP) of Higher Education Institutions (HEI) public schools in Minas Gerais, which offer the course in face-to-face mode. For this, qualitative research was used, having as a theoretical reference the Semantic Fields Model (SFM), proposed by mathematician educator Romulo Campos Lins. Data collection consisted of bibliographical and documentary research. Twenty-five (25) PCP of Pedagogy were analyzed, with emphasis on disciplines related to Mathematics. A research characterized as a literature review was also carried out, highlighting the central ideas about the training of teachers who teach Mathematics in Early Childhood Education and the initial years of Elementary Education, totaling 10 (ten) dissertations and theses selected for analysis. The collected data were analyzed in light of the Semantic Fields Model and our literature review. The results of the analysis of the PCP of Pedagogy, emphasize and problematize the titles of the disciplines that involve mathematics, the low workload of these disciplines and the methodology as a central aspect of these disciplines, as the literature review has pointed out.
