The nature of the research problem starts from a conceptual framework formed by the concepts of health work, work process and work organization in health and family health strategy, taking account the theoretical model of Mendes Gonçalves. It develops in a descriptive and transversal perspective of discovery considering empirical data. The subjects are 13 nurses engaged in Family Health in a average city. The empirical material was collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed by content analysis. The study identified the relationship between the elements of the work process and the production of care. The resolvability, or not, can be reflected by the work realized and reported by nurses. The limitation in the prehension of the work process by nurses are evident from the moment they report how professionals are subject to compliance with rules and routines, impairing the vision of the whole and fragmenting the elements of their work process. It is essential to establish organized systems of work processes in health care, especially in nursing under the scope of Family Health, aimed at the achievement of objectives and quality assurance of the production.
