However, in the classroom I showed that they are not usually approached, in Geography teaching. The objective of this dissertation is to understand how the National Common Curriculum Base (BNCC) and the Minas Gerais Reference Curriculum (CRMG) allow to approach the theme in medium and small cities, in Geography teaching. To achieve this objective of qualitative research, based on the non-dialectical historical-materialist method, I used as a technique the bibliographic and documentary analysis and the application of a questionnaire via e-mail to Geography teachers from the middle city of Alfenas and the small city of Paraguaçu. It was confirmed that, at both federal and state levels, the realities of disasters are disregarded, with a national and global approach prevailing. The construction of the curriculum of the state of Minas Gerais should, because it consists of an expressive number of medium and small cities, have a more intense consideration of its reality, or that would allow a more explicit approach to medium and small ones. cities. The CRMG format passes to the teacher the responsibility of inserting these activities and not the process of adapting the curriculum to the classroom. With the objective of contributing to the approach of medium and small cities, we elaborate proposals, based on the competences of the state curricular policy.
