Dissertação (Mestrado em Educação) - Universidade Federal de Alfenas, Alfenas, MG, 2019.https://repositorio.unifal-mg.edu.br/handle/123456789/1402This study proposes a special review of the most recent and important Colombian educational policies (especially the free education policy, Quality and Relevance established in the Ten-Year Plan 2006-2016) based on the critical thinking of François Dubet and his concepts of Educational Justice. As a working method I used the documentary analysis and especially the contrasting between the policies, their objectives and achievements, with the categories of "equality of opportunities", "meritocracy" and "common school culture" coined by Dubet in his main works. The results of the analysis showed that Colombian educational policies aim to justify and increase school and social inequalities, instead of contributing to their overcoming. It is evident that behind the policies and programs reviewed there are hidden economic interests (competitiveness and productive-labor efficiency) that reflect the interests and globalizing demands of our time. In particular, it is noted that the purposes of current Colombian education are more political than social and cultural, and that the educational systems are aimed at the mercantile objectives demanded by the world market. From Dubet's perspective, it deals with policies of general application (very uncritical) that deepen injustice, allowing individuals with more "cultural capital" to remain in privileged positions.
