Dissertação (Mestrado em Ensino de Física) - Universidade Federal de Alfenas, Alfenas, MG, 2024.https://repositorio.unifal-mg.edu.br/handle/123456789/2818This study presents the development and application of a Potentially Significant Learning Unit (UEPS) using a low-cost experimental apparatus, designated as the Low-Cost Thermosiphon (TFBC). The main objective of this study is to develop, implement, and evaluate the use of an experimental apparatus, the Low-Cost Thermosiphon, as a pedagogical tool to facilitate the conceptualization of thermodynamic principles, in alignment meaningful learning theory. Additionally, the study aims to assess students' comprehension through the creation concept maps. The Brazilian Common National Curriculum (BNCC) underscores the significance of experiential learning in physics education. However, practical limitations, such as the high cost and intricate nature of the required equipment, present a significant challenge to the implementation of such approaches. To address these challenges, we propose the construction and utilization of the TFBC in 11th grade classrooms. The apparatus will be used to address a range of everyday topics related to the concept of heat, its propagation principles, and thermal insulation materials. The methodology employed to attain the desired outcomes is founded upon meaningful learning theory. This entails the elevation of pre-existing subsumers within the students' cognitive structure and the utilisation of content analysis to process the data gathered during and following the pedagogical interventions. Activity sequences were developed to facilitate the teaching and learning process, enabling students to design and manipulate the experiment and respond to the guiding questions proposed by the teacher-researcher. The findings of the study indicated that the use of the TFBC facilitated the comprehension of the concepts of heat flow and conduction through different materials. This evidence supports the efficacy of low-cost experimental practices at this educational level.Further research could investigate the applicability of the TFBC in other fields of physics and extend the methodology to encompass diverse educational levels.application/pdfinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessEnsino de FísicaPráticas experimentaisTermodinâmicaLei de FourierFluxo térmicoExperimentos de baixo custoCIENCIAS EXATAS E DA TERRA::FISICAO uso de um termofluxímetro de baixo custo para o ensino de termodinâmicainfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisPedroso, Luciano Soares
