The disease has the following clinical forms: cutaneous fixed, lymphocutaneous and disseminated which can progress to a systemic infection. The fungus disease presents itself in the form of hyphae between 25° and 30° C in the ambient medium and yeast at 37 °C in tissues. Environmental growth depends on weather conditions such as humidity and temperature. Certain groups of people may be more exposed to the causative agent of disease, such as residents of rural areas. Despite having a worldwide distribution, sporotrichosis has most prevalent in tropical and subtropical countries. In Brazil, reports of the disease are frequent. In Brazil, reports of the disease are frequent. Thus the study aimed to carry out a seroepidemiological survey of the prevalence of esporotriciose in four rural locations in southern Minas Gerais. In this study we used indirect ELISA test on survey of the prevalence of sporotrichosis. Data obtained in this study evaluated a population of 631 individuals showed a prevalence of 44.69%, i.e. 282 people testing positive for sporotrichosis. The distribution of seroprevalence for sporotrichosis with respect to different age groups and gender showed no significant statistical difference. It is reported, for the first time, the seroprevalence of sporotrichosis in rural locations in the south of Minas Gerais State, Brazil.application/pdfAcesso Abertohttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/EsporotricoseSporothrixTécnica ImunoenzimaticaPrevalênciaCIENCIAS BIOLOGICASInquérito soroepidemiológico sobre a esporotricose-infecção em áreas rurais do Sul de Minas GeraisDissertaçãoChavasco, Jorge Kleber
