Since the publication of Law 11,091 / 2005, the performance evaluation has become mandatory in all Federal Institutions of Higher Education - IFES. The said Law provides for the structuring of the career plan for the Technical-Administrative Positions in Education - PCCTAE, in which progression by professional merit is performed based on the result of the Performance Evaluation. According to the legislation, the objectives of this performance evaluation are to promote the improvement of the quality of public services, to subsidize the personnel management policy of the institutions, mainly in terms of training, server development in the position and career, remuneration and movement of people. The present study proposes to analyze the perception of the servers of the Federal University of Alfenas - UNIFAL-MG on the performance evaluation program in the organizational context. The data were obtained through questionnaires, with non-probabilistic sampling for convenience, which consisted of 371 questionnaires applied to the technicaladministrative servers and professors, occupying senior positions, who participated in the performance evaluation process in the year 2016. The Quantitative data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics. The quantitative results obtained revealed that the servers that participated in the survey are superficially familiar with the objectives of the Performance Evaluation. Most of them have already participated more than once in the process and consider both performance evaluation and self-assessment to be important. The survey also revealed that most of the servers that participated in the survey did not receive training to perform the performance evaluation or feedback from the evaluation.
