For such task, I thought it necessary some theoretical foundations and debates, in order to clarify some basic questions for the understanding of Historical-Critical Pedagogy, since its initial elaboration, in the second half of the last century. Among these foundations, the reader of this text might find debates and notes on the urgency of methodological productions for the historical-critical conception, the debate on the role of public school and school education according to this chain, a little of the history of Historical-Critical Pedagogy, its philosophical aspects, its political orientation and its basis in Historical-Cultural Psychology. Physical Education teachers will also find a brief history of this area in Brazil, from its beginning to the present day; in a second moment, with a specific focus to the renovating movement of Physical Education and the main pedagogical conceptions/approaches of the Brazilian Physical Education.
