Through the research I present a study about the role of queen Berenguela I, LeonandCastile (1180-1246), in the political strengthening of the government of her son, Fernando III (1201-1252) in specific period in the conquest of Cordoba, completed in 1236. For this purpose I use the concept of gender as a tool to understand the gender relations that are evidenced in the construction of the image of the queen present in the First General Chronicle of Spain, a work elaborated by her grandson, Alfonso X, from 1269. From this research I present a study about the role of Queen Berenguela I, Leon and Castile (1180-1246), in the political enhancement of the rule of her son, Fernando III (1201- 1252), specifically during Córdoba's conquest concluded in 1236. For this purpose, I use the gender concept as one of the tools to understand the enlightened gender relations in the construction of the queen image in the Primera Crónica General de España, a work created by her grandson, Alfonso X, in 1269.
