Therefore, a reuse plan would optimize the process costs, in addition being a very positive environmental action. As the main material in civil construction, currently and in the past, concrete is only behind water volume applied, so, this justifies the importance of studying and understanding the physical, chemical and mechanical functions when bounded with other types of materials in the composition. Nowadays, it is known that concrete is used since small repairs as fences, to large structural elements such as piles, shallow foundations, beams, pillars and slabs. Seeking a better performance using concrete, today composed mainly with water, small and large aggregates and the ‘Portland’ cement, this study was based on. In general, this research aims to use the Ceramic Scrap - waste from sanitary ware generates from damage in production, leftovers and cutting pieces - as a coarse aggregate in the concrete composition, in a homogeneous granulometry, since the nonlinear geometry of aggregate grains becomes a big problem, and then compare compression mechanical resistance in the formulations. The research will address a quantitative methodological evaluation, with the respective procedures, starting with compositions creation, passing by sample preparation, deeping it in water tanks to achieve bigger compression resistance, testing the samples moisture, analyzing the physical properties, performing the concrete slump test and the compression mechanical resistance test using appropriate equipment. At the end, it will be possible to conclude the good workability of Scrap as a coarse aggregate in the compositions of the various concretes analyzed, obtaining satisfactory compression mechanical resistance values, respecting the normative parameters. At the end, the samples were classified based on scrap percentage in the compositions: CP-25 (25% Scrap), CP-50 (50% Scrap), CP-75 (75% Scrap) and CP- 100 (100% Scrap) as well a reference composition called CR. The compression mechanical resistance values found were excellent and totally aligned to Brazilian normative standards, specially the compositions CP-50 and CP-75 with a fc,m of 40,11 and 41,83 MPa respectively. Concrete formulations with scraps were classified as C30 and C40, according to the values of fck, being possible to be used in structures. The values of the other compositions CR, CP-25 and CP-100 also had good results of fc,m of 37,94, 34,38 and 36,29 MPa respectively.application/pdfAcesso Abertohttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/ConcretoResíduos sólidosCimento PortlandMaterial cerâmicoAgregados (Materiais de construção)ENGENHARIASAvaliação do comportamento de resíduo de louça sanitária (Scrap) como agregado de formato homogêneo em variadas formulações de concretoEvaluation of sanitary ware waste (Scrap) behavior as an homogeneous aggregate in various concrete formulationsDissertaçãoDel Roveri, Carolina
