The violence is inseparable from the police daily life and that affects all individuals, whether women, men, black or white people. In the case of black people, specifically, there is a list of more drastic consequences, such as the Second 11th Brazilian Public Security Yearbook: in 2016 4,222 people were killed in police actions, 76.2% of them black and 453 police victims of homicide in 2016, 56% were black (FÓRUM…, 2017). Considering these data, the general objective was to identify the development of racial and institutional relations in the military police at Varginha-MG in relation to their external working environment, from the perspective of military police officers of Varginha; and as specific objectives: to understand how the racial and institutional relations occur within the environment of the Minas Gerais Military Police in the city of Varginha and in society; raise the profile of police approach according to the understanding of police officers; identify how race relations and human rights issues are viewed by police officers. For this, five interviews were conducted with police officers from Varginha-MG and the data analyzed through Critical Discourse Analysis.
