The second step is the study of pre-treatment optimization using experimental planning techniques. The independent variables of lignocellulosic material pretreatment were: straw mass in solution with different proportions (m / v) solid - liquid, 5,0:10; 1.0: 10; 1.5: 10 and 2.0: 10; and using sulfuric acid solutions with different dilutions (v / v), 0.5%; 0.8%; 1.0%; 1.5%; 2.0%, 2.5% and 3.0%. Pretreatment was performed for 40 minutes in a vertical autoclave at 121 ºC and 1 kgf / cm². The response variables were: the concentration of released soluble solids measured in degrees Brix (° Bx) and the released glucose mass ratio as a function of the initial barley biomass mass of (m / m).
