This study evaluates the degree websites transparency of 197 municipalities in Minas Gerais State, with population over 10,000 inhabitants, according requirements of the LAI and the Open Government Data (OGD) principles. From the Active Transparency General Index (IGTA) of each website, calculated using the methodology developedby the Public Transparency Program of Fundação Getúlio Vargas in Rio de Janeiro (FGV/RJ), is presented the average of the 13 Geographic Regions of the State and is prepared a general ranking of the sample cities. IGTA is confronted with the degree of active transparency measured by two comprehensive official ratings: the National Transparency Ranking (RNT), performed by Federal Public Prosecution (Ministério Público FederalMPF) and the Transparent Brazil Scale (EBT), by theComptroller General's Office (Controladoria-Geral da União-CGU).
