Approved by the Research Ethics Committee of UNIFAL-MG, Opinion No. 795 401. Qualitative study approach to hermeneutics dialectic, carried out with 15 nurses, technicians hospitals charge of 8 cities in southern Minas Gerais, selected from the Technical Snowball Sampling. Data collection was conducted from October 2014 to February 2015, using a semi-structured interview, with the following guiding question "how do you, the responsible technical function, leads the day-to-day leadership over its employees”. We used content analysis, electing to three empirical categories: the reason for the hospital and the strength of the biomedical model; exercise leadership in the face of the nursing work dimensions, and the perception of the technician responsible nurse about your role as leader. That it is considered (a) nurse (a) technical manager (a) backed by the professional practice law, is faced with many challenges related to historical influence, training curriculum and the power of the current clinical care model, to exercise leadership to with its staff in its management practice. Reports say as soon as the technical lead nurse facing the challenges and pitfalls carries the value of caring for the human person and thus can mobilize and involve nursing professionals transforming the daily work positively in favor of complete assistance.
