The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of nanometric carboapatita (HAPNC) synthesized by researchers at Unifal-MG, as bone repair in injury class III furcation of molars of Wistar albino rats. Teeth affected by injury furcation class III most often are condemned and taken not respond positively to the usual treatment for these types of injuries. The HAPNC has been tested by the group and it was found that enables bone repair critical defects in tibia suggesting its evaluation in class III furcation defects. Thirthy Wistar Rattus Norvegicus were used, males weighing between 300gr and 500gr, randomly divided into two groups: control and HAPNC. The groups were subdivided into three subgroups according to the experimental period of 1 day, 60 and 90 days. After these intervals, the animals were subjected to computed tomography and radiological exams and then euthanized. The mandible was dissected and the first lower left molar removed en bloc with the surrounding bone. The samples were fixed in 4% paraformaldehyde in phosphate buffer, embedded in paraffin and sections stained with toluidine blue and basic fuchsin. This study was evaluated and approved by the Ethics Committee on Animal Use (CEUA- UNIFAL) under the protocol 619/2015. Imaging tests were performed on radiographs after the fixing of mandibles, with cuts in the axial direction to the skull in lateral norm for HMs. Computed tomography taken were also held with the anesthetized animal supine and motionless head in the three-way axial, coronal and cross section. Results demonstrate efficacy of HAPNC in bone repair in furcation defects class III.
