Foucault, Dardot and Laval, Han, Agudelo, Mbembe, Saflate and Bauman are some authors that we will put in dialogue to better understand the mobilization and production of fear in an era deeply marked by the worsening of insecurity, uncertainty and vulnerability. The central form of fear in neoliberal rationality is that which the individual institutes from the fear of not winning, not being seen or of failing. That's all neoliberal rationality needs to tame social behaviors, produce certain ways of living and certain subjectivities. To understand the above, we used the critical-interpretive methodology of a qualitative approach. In the first chapter we present some discussions about the concept of neoliberal rationality, elucidating its influence on the form of our existence, which can culminate in undesirable consequences. In the second chapter we present the theme of fear, its potentialities and implications in the implementation and maintenance of neoliberal rationality. In the third chapter we present the machinery of neoliberal disposability, and later we argue how and why the friend-enemy axis is fundamental for fear to continue. The result of this dissertation elucidates how neoliberal rationality is based on a permanent framework of fear that, in the name of an illusory ethos of success, prosperity and freedom, aligned with the constant threat of unemployment, guides the conduct of individuals, their choices and practices.application/pdfAcesso Embargadoracionalidade neoliberal; medo; insegurança; controle social.neoliberal rationality; fear; insecurity; social control.CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::ECONOMIAECONOMIA::TEORIA ECONOMICAECONOMIA DOS RECURSOS HUMANOS::CAPITAL HUMANONeoliberalismo como doutrina do medo: a ascensão de políticas de morte no século XXIDissertaçãoZwick, Elisa
