The main goal of this research was to propose the implementation of Knowledge Management actions to improve the transmission of the Education Administrative Assistant staff’s knowledge of positions or unique areas at the Federal University of Alfenas. The type of approach was mixed, with the combination of qualitative and quantitative techniques. The research was bibliographic, with the use of pre-existing materials such as books, scientific articles, and laws, as well as exploratory, aiming to provide greater familiarity with the problem, making it more explicit. Data collection was carried out through an application of data collection instrument with open and closed-ended questions, via Google Forms, for the research’s target group. It was found that more than 1/4 of the surveyed population will retire in the next 10 years and that the Federal University of Alfenas has one of the lowest ratios of Education Administrative Assistant compared to professor, which, combined with the lack of Competency Management, may hinder the implementation of Knowledge Management at the University. On the other hand, there were findings that can help the Federal University of Alfenas to create its organizational memory, as the University has Knowledge Management actions, even if they are not this way. Thus, with the use of the base tool of knowledge Electronic Information System, the "how to do" of all University activities can be stored in the same place, avoiding losses with staff departures, and during their vacations and absence, being suggested that training sessions conducted by staff be used to update these records.
