This decision was made due to the results of the dinamization of fixed assets and flows that were happening at the region with the intensification of mining activities. In this way, the constitution of brazilian socio-spatia, in addition to being a reflection and condition of what was happening in the Portuguese metropolis, it was shaped and produced, also based on what was happening in Minas Gerais and in other provinces. Thus, the main objective of this research is understand the territorial configuration of Minas Gerais in a logical way, analyzing the spatial arrangement during the transiction of the periods pre-technician to the technical linking those to the brazilian socio-spatial form. For this, bibliographical researches were made aiming to construct theoretical and empiric discussions regarding geographic history, the socio-spatial formation of Minas Gerais and the colonial Brazil. The historic cartography has an important role to the metodology of this research. In this way, it was possible comprehend the relation between Minas Gerais to other brazilian captaincies and the formation of villages in Minas Gerais.
