Dissertação (Mestrado em Ciências Ambientais) - Universidade Federal de Alfenas, Alfenas, MG, 2024.https://repositorio.unifal-mg.edu.br/handle/123456789/2721Brazil is the largest exporter of coffee in the world market and the second among the countries that consume most of the beverage. The country produces one-third of the world's coffee production. Despite the economic crisis caused by the pandemic that affected several sectors in 2020, the demand for coffee maintained its growth rate. Recent research indicates that the country produces, consumes, and exports both conventional and organic coffees. Conventional coffee production is carried out using pesticides for pest control, chemical fertilizers, and various other contaminating nutrients. Organic production uses ground rocks, organic materials, and balanced nutrition according to soil needs in its fertilization process. This management in organic production contributes greatly to environmental protection and human health, considering that organic coffees are free of chemical composition. For this reason, the sale of organic coffee has added value, as its contribution is very beneficial. This study seeks to highlight the costs in both types of production, to verify if the producer obtains positive financial results when commercializing the product, calculating the carbon footprint to compare which cultivation reduces greenhouse gas emissions.application/pdfAcesso AbertoCafé orgânicoCafé convencionalCustos de produçãoImpactos ambientaisCIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::ECONOMIACafés orgânicos e Convencionais : Estudos da viabilidade econômica por meio de análise dos custos de produçãoDissertaçãoAzevedo, Luciana
