Such factors may be aggravating the team's labor distress. This is a quantitative, descriptive and analytical study that aimed to analyze the risks of pathogenic suffering in the work of nursing professionals from two hospitals in a city of the South of Minas Gerais. It was worked with 241 subjects, being these nurses, nursing technicians and nursing assistants. Data collection took place in the first half of 2018, through the response of two instruments: the sociodemographic and professional characterization questionnaire and the Inventory of Risks of Pathogenic Suffering at Work. For the analysis of the data, the Statistical Package for the Social Science was used, using the tests of Correlation of Spearman, Mann-Whitney, Kruskall-Wallis and its complementation, the test of Dunn, in the program Biostat, besides the model of regression analysis. The research project was approved by the Research Ethics Committee, according to Opinion No. 2,195,964. As results, it was observed that the risks of pathogenic suffering at work were absent in the general population, as well as when discriminated by professional categories and institutions. The age variable showed a positive correlation with the utility indicator and an inverse with the indignity indicator. The number of children presented a direct correlation with the utility and recognition indicators. As for the associations, the male subjects were associated with higher mean indignities, of the private institution with higher averages of recognition, professionals of the oncology clinic and who exercised the double employment in basic health units with higher averages for the utility indicator. Not working in the sector and shift of preference was associated with worse results for all the indicators. The multiple regression allowed to identify the associations between not working in the sector of their preference with worse means for all indicators, as well as working more than 42 hours in the second job, working for more than five years in the study institution with lower averages for the indicator utility and exercise a weekly workload of 42 hours or more with higher recognition means. It was concluded that, in general, the mean indicates no risk of pathogenic suffering at work. Variables of the demographic, desires, needs and work organization spheres may be related to the increased risk of pathogenic suffering considering their impact on indicators of utility, indignity and recognition.application/pdfinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccesshttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/TrabalhadoresSaúde MentalSofrimento psíquicoSaúde do trabalhadorEnfermagemCIENCIAS DA SAUDE::ENFERMAGEMRiscos de sofrimento patogênico no trabalho da enfermagem hospitalar de um município do Sul de Minas Gerais.info:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisVilela, Sueli De Carvalho
