Dissertação (Mestrado em Geografia) - Universidade Federal de Alfenas, Alfenas, MG, 2023.https://repositorio.unifal-mg.edu.br/handle/123456789/2266The process of globalization currently experienced has intensified the processes of population displacements through space, in particular, the displacements among countries. Recent studies on the dynamics of international migration in Brazil have revealed quite diverse panoramas and have brought important contributions to the understanding of this complex phenomenon. However , there have been few studies on the spatialization and reflection of this phenomenon in education. Therefore, this research invites us to reflect on the operationalization of the uses territory category, as a possibility for understanding the processes of use of the school territory by international migrant students enrolled in the public network from Distrito Federal. Furthermore, it seeks to understand how they form, within the school environment, places of resistance, integration, teaching and learning. The use of the used territory category, initiated by Milton Santos in the 1990s, configures an important possibility of reflection on the geographic space in the context of the postmodern world and globalization. For the development of this qualitative research, in addition to the bibliographic review with the theme of international migration and geographic concepts, secondary data and document analysis provided by the Secretaria de Educação do Distrito Federal were collected, a focus group was carried out with immigrant students from the Centro Educacional São Bartolomeu, in São Sebastião- DF and semi-structured interviews with teachers from this school. The recent actions developed by SEEDF have shown significant advances regarding the instrumentation for the reception and inclusion of immigrant students in this teaching network, however, there are many challenges encountered for its wide effectiveness. The school territory has an important mission in the reconstruction of another globalization based on inclusion, integration, strengthening of solidarity and diversity. It is a territory potentially capable of forming new citizens and producing new knowledge, catalyzing processes for building a fairer, democratic and not alienated society.application/pdfAcesso Abertohttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/Migrantes InternacionaisEstudantesTerritório UsadoCIENCIAS HUMANAS::GEOGRAFIAMigrantes internacionais na educação básica do Distrito Federal: processos de uso do território escolarDissertaçãoPorto, Gil Carlos Silveira
